Samsung and LG Display have been at war over display patents and the latest one sees Samsung suing LG Display over the use of plane-to-line (PLS) technology. Samsung wants the court to invalidate seven LG patents and is seeking a sales ban on the products that infringe the relevant patents.

According to Samsung, they patented the PLS technology in 1997 but LG Display modified their technology and marketed it as AH-IPS and integrated in some of LG’s products.

Samsung also seeks 2 million won in damages.
