Samsung has confirmed that they’ll release a new Smart TV SDK at the CES 2013 that will add support for Mac and Linux operating systems. In addition to Windows, version 4.0 of the Smart TV SDK will allow Smart TV app development on both Linux and Mac OS.

Samsung says the new SDK provides a local cloud development environment that brings developers using different OSes together, enabling better efficiency and reduced costs.

Furthermore, SDK 4.0 adds HTML5 support and improved Smart Interaction functions.
