Samsung will release Tizen-based devices this year

January 3, 2013 By kunal Leave a Comment

Tizen

Samsung has confirmed that they’ll release Tizen-based devices later this year. Although there’s no specific timeframe, Samsung released a statement to Bloomberg that promises to launch “competitive Tizen devices within this year.” Samsung didn’t divulge on the apparent specifications or features.

Samsung’s confirmation acknowledges the report that came in last month claiming Samsung to launch a Tizen smartphone in Japan on NTT Docomo.

Tizen is an open source OS with Samsung and Intel as the major backers of the operating system.
