Samsung confirmed the release of its 85-inch S9 UHD TV for the Southwest Asia region. At the 2013 Samsung Forum held in India, Samsung India’s Consumer Electronics VP announced that the S9 will be available from May 2013 in India and other Southwest Asian markets. Mr. Jain did not divulge the probable pricing but given how expensive it is in the Korean (40 million won) and the European (40,000 euros) market, expect it to cost a bomb when it arrives here.
The S9 boasts a luxurious ‘Timeless Gallery’ design that makes TV appear to be floating within the frame, which also hosts 10 speakers, giving a total output of 120-watt.
The 85S9 is also said to be compatible with the Smart Evolution Kit, thus safeguarding the TV with future UHD standards.
