After months of speculation and leaks, Samsung’s latest flagship phone is here. Unlike the predecessors that suffixed a roman numeral to signify the version, Samsung is calling it the Galaxy S4.
Samsung is using polycarbonate for the chassis and is just 7.9mm thin and weighs just 130 grams.
On the hardware side there are no surprises as the Galaxy S4 comes with a 5-inch 1920×1080 HD Super AMOLED display, 4G LTE, 1.6GHz Exynos 5410 octa-core or 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, 13 megapixel main camera with 2 megapixel on the front, NFC, 2600mAh battery, IR Blaster, 16GB internal memory with microSD card slot that can be expanded up to 64GB.
More than the hardware, software on the Galaxy S4 is what Samsung is banking upon. The Galaxy S4 packs in a newer version of the TouchWiz UI along with some nifty additions like Smart Scroll that tracks user’s head and wrist movements to scroll the page, email etc.; Smart Pause stops playing video as soon as the user stops looking at the screen; improved Air View now shows a preview of emails, videos, images by just hovering the finger; S Translator that translates on the go.
The phone will be available in black, white and black from end of April.
