Samsung Display has confirmed to showcase a number of display technologies at the SID 2013 that begins from tomorrow in Vancouver, Canada. Some of the technologies that attendees can expect on the show floor are the 85-inch Ultra HD panel that is being used in the 85-inch S9 UHD TV; a 4.99-inch full HD AMOLED display that boasts the broadest colour gamut of 94 percent average rate for Adobe RGB colour space, offering amazing colour reproduction; 10.1-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) that consumes 30 percent less power; and the interesting of the lot is a 13.3-inch WQXGA+ panel for notebooks with a resolution of 3200×1800 pixels.
Samsung will also demonstrate diamond pixel technology that features more green pixels then red or blue ones because our retina reacts to green colour more. Additionally, Samsung will also showcase local dimming technology for TVs that results in improved black images, brightness and contrast ratio.
