Samsung will soon release Developer Edition of its Galaxy S4 in the United States. Listing on Samsung USA’s website confirms that a Galaxy S4 Developer Edition will be released on AT&T and Verizon.
The Developer Edition is similar to the retail device but comes with an unlocked bootloader, giving consumers an easier choice to root the device and install custom ROMs. While we don’t have any idea on the price, these devices generally sell at a no-contract price, which is more or less the same as the retail price.
Do note that this edition is different from the Google Edition that was announced at the I/O conference. The Developer Edition will still feature all the software enhancements by Samsung while the Google Edition device will come with stock Android OS without any customisation.
