Samsung will inaugurate a new Research & Development centre on Nokia’s home turf, Finland this June 13. According to an invite sent to Android Beat, the new R&D facility will focus on “advanced technologies,” without divulging any more details.

Samsung R&D facilities are spread all around the globe but this is the first time, an R&D facility will be in the Nordic region.

In addition to this milestone, another reason for Samsung to celebrate is the IDC report that puts the Korean giant ahead of Nokia in Finland in Q1 2013.
