Last week, Samsung’s Group’s subsidiary – Samsung Petrochemical formed a joint venture with SGL Group for carbon fiber composite materials. Both companies will hold a 50 percent share and will operate under the name – Samsung SGL Carbon Composite Materials.

The main motive of the joint venture is to “develop new industrial and electronic applications” with carbon composite materials for Samsung. In other words, Samsung will make use of the carbon fiber produced by this joint venture into many of its products ranging from consumer electronics to medical devices and even engineering applications.

The deal is expected to be completed by July.
