Yesterday, Korea Times cited an unnamed official who claimed Samsung has decided to shut down its desktop PC business. The report came in a few days after Samsung announced its ATIV range of tablets and all-in-one PC and claimed that Samsung will concentrate on other form factors as “demand for conventional desktop PCs is going down”.

However, Samsung has released a statement that refutes the previous claim as “groundless”.

The rumour that Samsung is withdrawing from the PC desktop business is groundless. Samsung will continue to offer diverse PC products according to consumer and market needs.
