Samsung is looking to increase its investment in India to ramp up its mobile phone production capacity for the Indian market. According to PTI’s sources Samsung is looking to invest a sum of Rs. 500 crore to expand its mobile production capacity in India and has apparently been approved by Department of Electronics and IT (DEITY).
Samsung’s move could pave way to manufacture its Galaxy S4 smartphone in its Noida factory but the company has been playing coy saying they’re “looking at strengthening the manufacturing presence in the country” but cannot provide “further details”.
Samsung’s Noida facility pumps out 3.5 to 4 crores devices annually that includes the previous Galaxy S flagship – Galaxy S III.
