If Samsung garnered some praise for making a rugged and waterproof device like Galaxy S4 Active, the company was also loathed about the fact that the phone that was essentially marketed as a water resistant phone did not have any warranty if it was damaged from water.
Now Samsung and AT&T are trying to do the right thing in the United States. Any Galaxy S4 Active users who purchased the device from AT&T and had their phone damaged by liquid (Liquid Damaage Indicator turns positive), they can return the device for a replacement. However, there are some conditions to be eligible: the replacement is good for one time and only liquid damage can be eligible for a replacement and not physical damage.
The Galaxy S4 Active adheres to IP67 standard that allows the device to be submerged in water for up to 30 mins in a height of 1 meter. However, there’s no liquid damage warranty if the user doesn’t take extra care to close all the ports before submerging it into water.
