We’ve seen the Galaxy S4 (I9505) running a port of Android 4.3 before but this is the first time we’re seeing an official ROM for the Galaxy S4. The I9505XXUEMI8 ROM, courtesy SamMobiles is up for grabs for daring users who want to flash their devices to the latest Android version. Mind you, this version is not final so you may want to proceed at your own risk.
Most Android 4.3 improvements are under the hood but some of the most notable changes include support for Samsung KNOX, Samsung Wallet, Reading Mode and improved performance and optimisations. There’s no mention if this ROM supports Galaxy Gear but the final version will definitely support all the functions of the Galaxy Gear.
Samsung expects to officially roll out the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4 later this month.
Krzysztof Bryk says
the gear compatybility comes with 4.3 (bt 4.0) native support, not via the samsung bt api as it has to be ont untill 4.2.2
Kunal Gangar says
This means any firmware running on Android 4.3 will support Galaxy Gear
Krzysztof Bryk says
any samsung device running 4.3 should be able to pare with it
i think there were no special apps on sgs4 to use with watch
earlier versions of android id not have bt4 support (only by api’s)
Krzysztof Bryk says
earlier you had trouble or zero succes when trying to pair any bt4 device with android lower than 4.3 unles you used app writen using this api
