Samsung’s first curved display smartphone will be announced as early as next week. Samsung’s JK Shin confirmed to Korean media that a limited edition smartphone – most likely a Galaxy Note 3 variant – will be announced in South Korea next week.
The reason for limited numbers is due to low production yields of the display, which suggests that the phone will be a mere showcase of Samsung’s technology prowess and won’t make out of Korean territory.
Last month, Samsung executive said the curved display smartphone won’t exactly have a flexible display but will be durable enough not to shatter when dropped to the ground.
Shin also revealed the recently concluded quarter will be better than the one they had in the second quarter.
