Samsung develops tablet-based ultrasound system

Samsung has launched its first tablet-based ultrasound system in the United States. The UGEO PT60A is targeted towards point-of-care market due to the performance and size of the device. Samsung says the UGEO PT60A received the FDA clearance in August and can diagnose quickly to enable doctors take decisions quickly.

The device is fitted with a 10.1-inch LED touchscreen monitor and features Needle Mate to precisely detect needle’s location, SDMR for clear imaging, SCI for spatial and contrast resolution.

Samsung is currently showcasing the machine at the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) annual meeting at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
