Rockstar, a consortium owned by Apple, Microsoft, BlackBerry, Ericsson and Sony has sued Google, Samsung and six other companies for infringing Nortel patents, which the consortium bought.
The consortium has filed lawsuits against Google for its Android OS and even against Google’s partners like Samsung, HTC, Huawei, ZTE, LG, Pantech, Asustek since they manufacture devices running on Google’s operating system.
The group alleges infringement of seven patents and claims Google is infringing them wilfully despite losing the bid to acquire the patents in 2011.
