Bloomberg: Samsung developing three-sided display smartphone

Samsung YOUM Flexible Display

Samsung is planning to release a new smartphone that will feature a “three-sided display,” according to Bloomberg’s sources. The sources don’t reveal much but claims the display will use an “upgraded version” of Youm display wrapped around the edges to give users simple notifications amongst other things.

Interestingly, Unwired View has uncovered a patent filed by Samsung and it matches what the report suggests.

According to the patent, the device could have a display wrapped around the side with the screen on the side can be used to lock/unlock the device, show charging status or even use it as a clipboard to paste items back again on the main screen.
