Having a Google Play Edition device has its advantage and the biggest of them is the speedier software update directly from Google. Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is now receiving the latest Android 4.4.2 update (I9505GUEUCML4) which brings some improvements on the software side along with bug fixes that now shows users the correct “H” indicator for HSPA/HSPA+ connectivity as opposed to just “3G”.
Galaxy S4 GPe users should receive the OTA notification on their devices in the coming days.
As for TouchWiz’d Galaxy S4 users, there’s no word as to when Samsung will release the Android 4.4 update but our best guess would be in Q1 2014.
