Samsung announced a fleet of tablets at the CES and we managed to play with them briefly to conjure our first impressions. The Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 is the top-of-the-line tablet and brings in some meaty specs along with S Pen support.
While the design is more or less same as the Galaxy Note 3 with a soft touch back, the biggest change is in the user interface.
The tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat with the Magazine UX and we wouldn’t be surprised if for a moment you thought it to be inspired by Windows 8. Samsung hasn’t retired TouchWiz completely as you’ll find some nuances from the previous user interface. Additionally, the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 also revamps the notification bar, features a full-size keyboard, menu button has been swapped with the app switcher and improves the Multi Window feature and with a single swipe from the right, it allows users to use up to 4 apps at once.
The S Pen input supports Air Command that brings up additional S Pen optimised features like Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder and Pen Window.
Hardware-wise, the tablet will be powered by Exynos 5 Octa in case of Wi-Fi-only and 3G variants and Snapdragon 800 in case of an LTE model, feature 3GB RAM and a nice 12.2-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) Super clear LCD. The tablet also comes with an 8MP main camera, 2MP front-facing camera, KNOX, Remote PC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, 32GB and 64GB internal memory, microSD card slot, infrared port for Samsung WatchON and 9500mAh battery.

Palm rejection? I take it it’s 16:10 instead of 4:3, right? Awful!
Kunal Gangar says
Yup, it has Palm rejection and 16:10
Aqualung says
16:10 is not good, especially for a so-called “productivity”tablet. However much I may hate Apple, 4:3 is the ideal tablet format.
