Back in November, US court Judge Paul Grewal found that Samsung executives and few other people managed to get a look at the legal report that were confidential and marked for “Attorney Eyes Only.” Not only the court order was violated but Samsung along with its legal firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP could have faced a serious sanction for flouting court rules.
Good thing for Samsung now is, Judge didn’t impose any sanctions on the Korean company but did fine the company to foot the court costs for both Apple and Samsung.
Although Grewal concluded that Samsung executives did see the report to gain an advantage but called sanctions as “ludicrously overbroad.”
Grewal has also ordered Samsung to delete the copies permanently within the next two weeks.
