We have a hint on what to expect at the Unpacked event on February 24 and now New York Times’ sources have chimed in confirming our speculation. Their sources claim that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S5 and compared to the Broadway show that happened for the Galaxy S4, its successor will be announced in a more serious manner.
The report also claims some of the specifications of the phone and though a faster processor and high resolution camera will make the cut, an eye scanner or a Quad HD display will supposedly won’t be included.
Another interesting claim the NYT report makes is that the new Galaxy Gear will also be announced. There’s no word on what new features the smartwatch will carry but our guess is it could be cheaper and compact than the first iteration.
Samsung’s Unpacked event will be streamed live on February 24 on YouTube from Barcelona, Spain at 8PM CET.
