After Google and Ericsson, Samsung has entered into a cross-licensing patent agreement with Cisco. The monetary exchange, if any, is unknown but both companies will get access to each other’s patent portfolio for a period of 10 years.
Both companies believe that such an agreement “reduces the risk of potential litigation” and works for the benefit of the consumers.
With the third company signing a cross-licensing patent agreement in less than two weeks, Samsung proves its intent that they can work with companies to avoid patent litigation and concentrate on innovation.
We look forward to working with Cisco. We expect this agreement to result in mutual growth and, ultimately, for the benefit of both companies’ customers across the world.
