Earlier this week at the Mobile World Congress, Telefonica signed up with wearable manufacturers, including Samsung to integrate its services with wearable devices. As wearable devices gain traction, the carrier will work with the manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, LG to integrate some of its successful services like the Tu Go app.
Telefonica hasn’t revealed how will they integrate their services in Samsung’s Gear range but it’s a positive sign that operators are taking a heed.
Samsung revealed the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit at the MWC.
We are delighted to work together with Telefónica to continue to bring new services and functionality to our newly announced wearable devices. As a pioneer of smart wearable devices with the announcement of Galaxy Gear in 2013, Samsung has been actively exploring a new possibility in smart wearable devices. We aim to introduce a variety of new smart wearables throughout the year for consumers who want communication freedom on-the-go.
