Samsung is about to go big as far as wearables are concerned. Last month, they unveiled the new Gear 2 smartwatches along with Gear Fit and thanks to SamMobile, we get a first look at the new S Band. If you recollect, Samsung announced the S Band last year but it never made it to retail for reasons unknown.
The new S Band looks more finished and will expectedly be targetd towards fitness enthusiasts. This will be one of the cheapest wearables by Samsung and seems similar to Fitbug – at least in concept. The S Band could be worn on the wrist or with a clip and will be able to track steps, calories and sleep.
The device will send collected data to the S Health 3.0 app and will even notify of incoming calls and messages with the integrated LED light.
There’s no word on the availability or the price but we would wager it to be around $100-$125 when Samsung decides to officially announce it.
