UPDATE 2: Sprint is the latest carrier to announce details regarding the Galaxy S5. Sprint has started taking pre-orders and is selling for zero down on a two-year agreement or $199.99 with a new line. Sprint will also sell the Gear devices from April 11 at the same price: Gear 2 – $299, Gear 2 Neo – $199 and Gear Fit – $199.
UPDATE: T-Mobile has also announced the device and will start taking pre-orders from Mar 24 for zero-down on a two-year contract.
US carriers are gearing up for Galaxy S5’s early April launch window. Both AT&T and U.S. Cellular have announced to start taking pre-orders of Samsung’s latest Galaxy S smartphone from tomorrow. AT&T will sell the phone for $199.99 with a two year agreement while the full retail price is fixed at $649.99.
The U.S. Cellular variant will also sell for the same price on contract but also throws in a $50 Google Play promotional code for customers pre-ordering the device online.
Meanwhile, AT&T has also revealed the pricing of the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit devices. Available from early April, Gear 2 will sell for $299 while the Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit will go for $199.
To quickly recap, Samsung’s Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. The phone will be powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, run Android 4.4 KitKat, a 16MP camera and 2800mAh battery.
Galaxy S5 also boasts a heart rate sensor at the back and a fingerprint sensor on the front.
