Samsung has teamed up with Barnes & Noble to create a co-branded Galaxy Tab 4 Nook tablet. This variant is targeted at readers and comes with the hardware of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 along with Nook’s software, giving access to Barnes & Noble’s collection of more than three million books, newspapers and magazines.
There’s no word on the price but Samsung will release the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 Nook tablet in US sometime in August and will be available across Barnes & Noble’s store and online website.
Barnes & Noble sells its Nook line of tablets and ebook readers but with Samsung coming into the picture, the company aims “to reduce its exposure to the substantial cost structure and other financial commitments” for manufacturing hardware.
