Samsung today announced their stylish Galaxy Alpha in the Indian market. The phone’s unique selling point is the design that now comes with a metal frame on the side and a soft touch back to give the phone a premium look. Samsung has also managed to keep the phone slim at just 6.7mm and weighs just 115g.
Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED Display (720p), Exynos 5 Octa processor (1.8GHz quad + 1.3GHz quad), 2GB RAM, 12 megapixel camera with front-facing 2.1 megapixel camera, 32GB internal memory, fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor and 1860mAh battery. Galaxy Alpha is also one of the first Samsung Android phones to not have a microSD card slot.
Software-wise, Galaxy Alpha runs Android 4.4.4 and comes with software enhancements like Ultra Power Saving Mode, S Health and support for Samsung wearable devices.
Galaxy Alpha will be available from next month in gold, black and white colours for Rs. 39,990, which ironically is expensive than Samsung’s currently flagship phone Galaxy S5. Airtel users will also get two months of free data.
