HERE, owned by Nokia today released the beta version of its HERE Maps for Samsung smartphones. HERE for Android (as it’s called) will work with Samsung smartphones that run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and over 1GB of RAM and serve as an alternate option to the prevalent Google Maps.
We played with the app briefly and it seems smooth and stable for a beta app. It supports downloadable maps, offline navigation and support for various map views.
The app is currently available for free in the Galaxy Apps store.
