Samsung makes TV whereas Airtel offers digital TV services and both companies have now come together to create a SmartDirect TV range that integrates Airtel’s digital TV Smart Card. The basic premise of this range is that if you use Airtel DTH service, you don’t need an external set-top box as the TV has a built-in Airtel digital TV Smart Card. Although Airtel and Samsung claim to be India’s “first” Integrated Digital TV (iDTV), similar offerings have been in the market from Videocon that supports its own Videocon D2H service.
Since there’s no set-top box to attach to, the TV has fewer wires and more importantly, a single remote control.
Additionally, the TV supports 1080p Full HD resolution and is equipped with a quad-core processor along with the latest Smart Hub user interface for improved Smart TV experience.
The TV range starts from Rs. 44,900 and as a limited time offer, buyers will also get 4 months of free subscription to Airtel DTH services.
