Samsung’s promised Galaxy Note Edge has finally got a launch date for the American market. The phone with an edge display will be available in the US starting from November 14. US carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular will carry the Galaxy Note Edge and will be available in Charcoal Black and Frost White.
The Galaxy Note Edge’s highlight is the 160 pixel edge display that gives quick access to email, favourite apps, notifications, news without having the user to turn on the main 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display (2560×1440) and more without having to turn on the main screen. The screen also supports Night clock mode for displaying the time at night, alarm and weather information.
The edge screen aside, the Galaxy Note Edge is a very potent smartphone and features rest of the hardware similar to the Galaxy Note 4 with S Pen input, 16 megapixel camera with front-facing 3.7 megapixel camera, 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory with microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, infrared port, barometer, UV sensor, fingerprint scanner and 3000mAh battery.
Samsung will also sell some accessories like Wallet Flip Cover, Wireless Charging Battery Cover and spare battery charging system along with the phone.
Galaxy Note Edge is currently available only in South Korea with a promised launch in other markets, including India.
