Our friends over at SamMobile claims to have some information on Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung’s last year’s Galaxy S flagship device. According to their source, Samsung is testing the Android 5.0 update for the Galaxy S4 and plans to release it sometime early next year.
The site points out that the Exynos 5 Octa variant will be the first in line to receive the update but given the testing, the final timeline could be changed.
The timeline is in line with something we’ve heard as well. Samsung expects to start the roll out of the Lollipop update for its 2014 flagship devices by end of this year followed by Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 in Q1 2015.
The update will understandably strip some features you’d find in the Galaxy S5 but will improve performance as well as battery life.
