Samsung showed its first-generation eye mouse back in 2012 and though the prototype never the saw the day, it needed the user to wear it to control the mouse cursor with the eye. The second-generation EYECAN+ solves this issue with a small box sitting beneath the monitor tracking user’s eye movement. Samsung says the box needs a calibration for first time users and requires the user to sit between 60cm to 70cm from the monitor to effectively track the movement.
EYECAN+ user interface (UI) will give users access to 18 different commands like cut, copy paste, scroll, zoom in, close program and more.
Samsung has no plans to put the device for sale but will open source the design for the companies that are interested in developing the product.
