Samsung rolls out Lollipop update for Verizon Galaxy S5

Galaxy S5 Verizon Android 5.0 update

Verizon is known for being of the last carriers to get a software update for their devices but in a surprising twist, the carrier’s Galaxy S5 has become the first Galaxy S5 in the United States to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The feature set for the Galaxy S5 is similar to the international version with material design support, improved TouchWiz UI and better performance.

The VRU1BNLC update will be rolled out gradually to all Verizon Galaxy S5 users over-the-air in the coming weeks.

There’s no word on the timeline about the Android update for other carrier branded Galaxy S5s.
