Samsung along with another Korean carrier, KT and Qualcomm will showcase LTE-Wi-Fi Link Aggregation aka LTE-H or HetNet. The technology will be showcased at the MWC next week and works similarly to LTE-A CA but instead combines the speed of 150Mbps LTE and 450Mbps Giga Wi-Fi, to achieve a combined speed of 600Mbps, enabling users a faster browsing and download speeds.
LTE-H is said to have better transmission efficiency as the Wi-Fi access is controlled through LTE base stations and detects the wireless signal reception between the user’s phone and Wi-Fi access point.
KT will pilot LTE-H in South Korea in first half of 2016.
Yesterday, Samsung and SK Telecom also confirmed to showcase 7.55Gbps transmission technology at the Barcelona trade show next week.
