Positive reviews, market response should generally equate to good sales of a product but Samsung’s latest Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge apparently fell short of expectation, at least in South Korea. According to Yonhap News, Samsung sold just over 200,000 units of Galaxy S6 devices since their launch. The sales even fell short of the 300,000 pre-orders.
Although the devices are packed with features, the report claims the slow response is due to carrier’s limited subsidies.
The carriers gave around 210,000 won initially but have increased the subsidy in the last few days. The maximum subsidy permissible by Korea’s telecom ministry is 330,000 won.
