It’s been a while something we’ve heard something related to Apple-Samsung lawsuit and it seems Samsung’s $930 million fine will be reduced according to a new ruling by US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The court ruled that although Samsung infringed some of Apple’s patents, the Korean giant did not infringe Apple’s trade dress. According to Reuters, the new ruling shaves off roughly $382 million of the original fine.
Samsung and Apple have been fighting for almost four years in courts across the globe and though both companies have got some rulings in their favour, there’s still no agreement between the companies.
The ‘frenemies’ compete each other in the mobile devices segment but Samsung is also a key components supplier to Apple for its devices. Samsung will also purportedly supply 14nm SoCs to Apple for its upcoming iPhone 7.
