Hot on the heels of Samsung Ventures’ investment in SIGFOX, Samsung has confirmed that they have integrated the SIGFOX Internet of Things protocol into the ARTIK platform. The partnership will allow the Samsung ARTIK to take advantage of the cost effectiveness and energy efficiency of SIGFOX that is suited for IoT-connected devices.

SIGFOX is the fourth protocol after GSM, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to connect to the internet and ARTIK dev kits will be fitted with a SIGFOX chip to support it out of the box.

Samsung’s ARTIK platform is an open platform that enables developers to create cost effective and IoT devices.
