Samsung and Microsoft are working to resolve Windows Update issue

I have a Samsung laptop and though it does not bar me from using Windows Update, it seems newer Samsung model owners are not that lucky. Earlier this week, a Microsoft community member discovered that some Samsung laptops were deliberately blocking the Windows Update service and allow updating of the device.

Samsung’s initial reasoning was that Windows Update installs default drivers which sometimes does not work correctly with their notebooks. However, given the backlash, Samsung seems to have backtracked on their original version and says they’re working with Microsoft to investigate further.

There’s no ETA but the fix should be released in the next few weeks.
