Samsung has locked in the new flagship devices announcement date, according to a report by SamMobile. The site claims Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ on August 12 with both devices going on sale in the next 9 days on August 21. This if true, will mark the first time Samsung has deviated from Galaxy Note’s launch schedule. Although the move is seen to one up the launch of upcoming iPhones from Apple, in retrospect, the devices will try and bolster Samsung’s earnings and marketshare that has been dropping every quarter.
As far as devices are concerned, the Galaxy Note 5 is rumoured to have a design similar to the Galaxy A8 with thin bezels and 4GB RAM. The site says the S Pen, this time, will look more like a real pen, won’t have a microSD card slot and come in colour options of silver, gold, black and white options. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note 5 will most likely miss the IR blaster function, if the case leaks are to be believed.
On Galaxy S6 edge+’ front, the phone will be powered by Exynos 7420 processor and 3GB RAM with a larger capacity battery and hopefully, a microSD card slot.
