WD is offering a new external HDD that allows consumers to enjoy 4K UHD movies on Samsung’s latest UHD TVs. The My Passport Cinema comes pre-loaded with 8 movies and supports 2014 and 2015 Samsung UHD TVs along with any other VIDITY-enabled device.
The pre-loaded movies are from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and includes titles such as Exodus: Gods and Kings, The Maze Runner. WD says users will be able to download additional titles on the USB 3.0 portable hard drive through M-GO app or other VIDITY retailers.
The 1TB My Passport Cinema sells in the United States for $89.99 as a part of a promotion, Samsung will bundle the drive free with purchase of Samsung JS9000, JS9100 or JS9500 SUHD TV models from August 16 to June 30.
