Samsung has teamed up with Sectra to create a secure smartphone, which will be rolled out to a European defense organisation. The partnership allows Sectra to enhance its Tiger/R hardware-based encryption communication security with Samsung’s KNOX that handles the device integrity by protecting it from malicious apps and hacks.

The Tiger/R offers encryption through a solution installed in the microSD card and all it requires is a PIN code to activate the added protection.

Sectra claims the the solution can be used at the RESTRICTED security classification level.
