ITC says Samsung does not infringe Nvidia’s patents

Last year, Nvidia filed a complaint against Samsung and Qualcomm alleging infringement of its graphics related patent. Now the US ITC has confirmed that Samsung is clear of the infringement. In fact, Samsung was found infringing one patent from Nvidia but deemed it invalid as “it was not a new invention compared with previously known patents.”

Samsung has declined to comment on the decision but Nvidia is now focusing its energy to review the initial determination and overturn the invalidated patent as a valid one.

In retaliation, Samsung countersued Nvidia and one of its partners in November 2014 claiming Nvidia to fudge the benchmarks.
