A clear case of dumb luck: One T-Mobile US Galaxy Note5 user seems to be the first person outside Samsung’s software labs to have received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The user claimed to be tinkering with the Odin tool after his phone was facing some IMEI issue and after restoring to the stock firmware, his phone received the N920TUVU2DOK5, which turned out to be Android 6.0.
The user posted a number of screenshots to prove it and it does look like Samsung’s phone is running the latest Android update.
But instead of enjoying the benefits alone, the user has managed to dump the system image for others to play with and enterprising users might be able to make good use of the dump to make it workable for other variants.
Samsung is rumoured to roll out the Marshmallow update for Galaxy Note5 sometime in December.
