As expected, Samsung has unveiled their latest Galaxy Note device for the Indian market. The Galaxy Note7 is priced at Rs. 59,900 and will be available on Flipkart and other offline retail stores. The Galaxy Note7 is similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge, which means it now comes with a similar edge display and IP68 certification, making the device water and dust resistant. However, the thing that excites us is the USB Type-C, Gorilla Glass 5 and one of the first devices to use iris scanning technology. The iris scan will allow users to unlock the device, in addition to the fingerprint sensor.
The S Pen has also got an upgrade that can now take notes without unlocking the screen with Screen off memo and pinning it to the Always On Display. The S Pen also enables creating GIFs with Smart Select and Air Command gains couple new functions like Magnify and Translate that allows users to zoom in on the screen or convert languages with a simple hover of the S Pen.
In terms of performance, the device comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 14nm Exynos processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, hybrid SIM slot that accepts microSD cards up to 256GB, Dual Pixel 12 megapixel rear-facing and 5 megapixel front-facing f/1.7 cameras, heart rate sensor, NFC, 3500mAh battery and fast charging support.
On the sidelines, Samsung also announced the Gear VR headset priced at Rs. 7,290, Gear IconX earbuds priced at Rs.13,490 and Gear Fit 2 smartband for Rs. 13,990.
