Refurbished device market is a $17 billion market according to Deloitte and to tap the market, Samsung plans to introduce an official refurbished program where they’ll sell the flagship Galaxy models.
The report from Reuters claims the announcement could come as early as next year and will help Samsung generate revenue and at the same time offload their yesteryear’s flagship devices that customers exchange for a new Galaxy flagship phone.
Samsung plans to sell the phones in other countries from the one-year upgrade programs in South Korean and United States.
We feel it’s a good move as it will allow customers to experience their top-of-the-lin device at an discounted price and hopefully turn them into potential customers of a new Galaxy device.
