Samsung has confirmed that its quantum dot technology that was previously limited to their SUHD line of TVs will now make its way to monitors. The CFG70 (24-inch and 27-inch) and CF791 (34-inch) curved monitors are the first set of monitors to boast this technology that promises improved colours with better power efficiency, 125 percent sRGB spectrum and overall quality that surpasses other conventional gaming monitors.
The CFG70 has a curvature of 1,800R whereas the the CF791 features a 1,500R curvature and both series are equipped with AMD’s FreeSync technology to reduce screen tearing. The CFG70-exclusive features include Arena lighting, Gaming UX OSD, pivot and swivel stand while the CF791 skips these features to integrate two 7W speakers and USB ports.
The monitors will go on sale globally and in the United States in Q4 2016 but Samsung will showcase them at the IFA 2016 that starts from this week in Berlin, Germany. The 24-inch CFG70 is priced at $399, 27-inch at $499 and the 34-inch CF791 monitor at $999.
