Samsung recently confirmed a number of countries to get Samsung Pay and while Canada is not a part of this list, it seems Canadians can get early access to the service. In a screenshot posted by a user, Samsung seems to have enabled access to the Samsung Pay service only if you use a select CIBC credit card.
Samsung does not give an exact timeline as to when more cards and banks will be supported except the confirmation that they will be “introduced in the future”.
Samsung Pay is currently supported in South Korea, USA, China, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Brazil and will be supported by Thailand, Russia and Malaysia by end of this year.
