Samsung is under a lot of pressure after the Galaxy Note7 debacle and it’s only logical Galaxy S8 will boast some new features and improvements to gain back the trust of the customers. A report by Bloomberg claims that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will boast a bezel-less display and remove the physical home button. Samsung will still use OLED panels but will ditch the bezel around the screen to give users more viewing real estate. As for the no physical home button, it will be replaced by a virtual one, placed under the glass of the lower section of the display.
The report also mentions that the display size would remain similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S7 family and will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 and Exynos processors for different regions. Additionally, there will also be a virtual assistant, thanks to the recent acquisition of Viv Labs.
Galaxy S8 is expected to go on sale in March but Bloomberg says, it could be delayed by a month for additional testing so as not to repeat the same result as the Galaxy Note7.
According to another report, the new phone is also rumoured to remove the 3.5mm audio jack.
