2016 Samsung 4K TVs now support HDR playback on YouTube

December 20, 2016 By Siddhanth Leave a Comment

HDR is the next big thing in the world of televisions and Samsung today confirmed that their 2016 top-end Quantum dot TV models will support YouTube’s global HDR playback. The support will come through an expanded version of the YouTube app and will be available to all 2016 Quantum dot TVs and UHD TVs.

The app will be updated automatically where users will be able to enjoy HDR videos through a dedicated HDR category.

HDR, short for High Dynamic Range makes picture quality better by adjusting the colour shades and tones to make it a more life-like experience.
