Eldar Murtazin from Mobile-Review is been one of the few industry experts who has been more or less accurate when it comes to upcoming smartphones. In a report published by him on his website, he talks in detail about the upcoming Galaxy S flagship smartphone.
According to the report, Samsung has floated around multiple prototypes of Galaxy S8 with varying hardware but the report particularly mentions about two prototypes – one with a fingerprint sensor beneath the display and second with a fingerprint sensor placed at the back and while it’s uncertain what fingerprint sensor placement design Samsung will go with, the front fingerprint sensor that doubled up as a home button will most likely get a miss.
Murtazin reckons the Galaxy S8 as an improved version of the Galaxy Note7 with a similar curved design on the front and back and will most likely come in two variants with different screen sizes. The smaller device will have a 5.7-inch display whereas the larger one will boast 6.2-inch. Despite the huge display size, the phone’s dimensions won’t be larger than the current Galaxy S7 series, which is impressive, if you ask us.
The 3.5mm headphone jack will still find a place on the device and will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8895 chip and in some regions with Snapdragon 835. Importantly, Samsung is also looking to bump the base storage from 32GB to 64GB and the ability to expand storage with a microSD card.
